The San Jacinto Hospital
San
Jacinto Methodist Hospital has been the place where many Baytownians come to
live. San Jacinto Methodist Hospital has been where many lives are saved. San
Jacinto Hospital, has been the place where the families of Baytown gather together
either for the birth of someone, the death of someone, or the cure of someone.
San Jacinto Hospital has been a part of the life of the people of Baytown. The
San Jacinto Methodist Hospital is where my family has grown. My family has been
a part of the births and cures that the hospital has provided. We have never
experienced a death yet, which I am gladly to state. The San Jacinto Methodist
Hospital can be said to be a sacred place where many may go to find an answer.
This Hospital is significant of Baytown. Everyone in Baytown has been to this
Hospital at least one time, in their life. This Hospital has a major
significance in the life of the citizens of Baytown. There is no other hospital
in this city that has been more involve with the citizens, than The San Jacinto
Methodist Hospital.
The
history of this Hospital is very significant. San Jacinto Methodist Hospital
has been opened since April of 1948 (Methodist). That is over six decades,
which it has been of existence. That takes us back to a time where baby boomers
were being born. Many of those are still around, so the Hospital is even a
bigger significance since, it brought to the world and to Baytown baby boomers.
This means that the Hospital is one of the things that cooperated with making
baby boomers come to live. It opened with the help of the Humble Oil and
Refining Company, local businesses, organizations, and individuals (Methodist).
All of them together gathered over a million dollars to help structure the
hospital (Methodist). The hospital first opened doors as a non-profit
(Methodist). The hospital was affiliated with the Methodist Church, and that is
why it is named San Jacinto Methodist Hospital (Methodist). The San Jacinto Methodist Hospital has been
recognized ever since. It has even grown in size. It has marked many lives and
it will keep marking. The San Jacinto Methodist Hospital is one of the main
symbols of Baytown. Not only does it serve to the citizens of Baytown, but it
also serves the people of the counties of Chambers, Liberty, and Montgomery.
(Methodist). I interview my aunt, Elvia Ramirez, who has lived in Baytown for
over thirty years. She said, “The hospital has been a major part of my life. The
reason why is, I lost my daughter Leslie there, but I also, had my son Baltazar
born there. That hospital brings me sad and happy memories. I believe it is a
hospital that has helped me in some ways, but in other it brings me unhappy
thoughts.” As you can see here the
hospital is very effective. It has had an impact in people lives. This hospital
is a magnificent building.
I can
relate to the Hospital, because I have been inside the hospital plenty of
times. One is the birth of family members, another is when I am sick, and the
other but not the least is when some of my family member get terribly sick and
we are all waiting patiently in the hospital. I can go back and think of
sitting in the waiting room of the Emergency room or sitting in the reclining
chair of one of the rooms when a baby was born. The San Jacinto Methodist
Hospital is a unique symbol of Baytown. It provides and serves the citizens of
Baytown, twenty-four hours and seven days a week. This hospital has marked the
lives of many.
